Marble is porous--blot spills immediately, especially acidic or pigmented liquids such as wine, citrus, coffee, or oils, which can stain or etch the surface. Do not use harsh chemicals, bleach, vinegar, ammonia, or abrasive cleaning tools that may dull or damage the finish.
